“गुरुर्ब्रम्हा गुरुर्विष्णू गुरुर्देवो महेश्वरः*
*गुरुःसाक्षात् परब्रम्ह तस्मैश्रीगुरवे नमः।।”
Guroor brahma guroor vishnu
Goroor devo maheshwarah
Within guru is brahma, within guru is vishnu, guru is verily the deva with shiva residing within.
Today on this auspicious day of guru purnima. Let’s bow down to the creator of this life. He gave us the purpose to live. He taught us something each and every day.
He gave us time to mould ourselves. He made us learn the power of adjustments, love, compassion, care and facing challenges. He made us strong. He transformed is into a fighter who doesn’t easily accept defeat.
He polished & sharpened our outlook & attitude towards life. Made us realise it’s not how many years exist in our life, but how much life there is in those years we live?
It’s not important how rich we are materially. Important is how much of rich virtues we have imbibed. How many people remember us with a smile. How many smiles can we bring on someone’s face .
Let’s bow down to all our gurus. First of all our mother who gave birth to us or her equivalent who taught us to talk & behave. Next to our father or his equivalent who taught us the ways of the world.
Then to all those teachers who guided us in accumulating knowledge. Finally, let’s thank those who helped is implement everything to fulfill our purpose.
Every person who came touches or lives, would have left some impression on us. Let’s thank each & every one of them.
One can choose to learn from anyone or anything. Human or animal, living being or non living object. The limitation is the learners readiness to observe & absorb lessons around him.
Reminds me something i had read in a book which I’d like to share.
Book: Shri Manikprabhu, his life & mission
Author: Nagesh D. Sonde
Translation of Bhagwat Puran VII 13
The very best among teachers in this world are the bees & pythons. Following their example we have acquired dispassion & contentment. Strangers may rob honey which was collected with great effort & pain by the bees yet the bees don’t despair. Like python i remain effortless & contented in my mind with whatever i get.
Life becomes a wonderful journey because of all these gurus. Let’s hope to learn everything possible from the universe. It always showers us with opportunities.
The sooner we learn to use them the faster we will discover our skills & talents. At conscious level by work, competitions, daily chores. At unconscious level by all our interactions with friends, family & things. All in all in a Beautiful way !
Let’s make our lives more positive, more accomplishing, more adventurous, more inquisitive and more fruitful. Let’s live our lives to the fullest. Let’s enjoy our journey with all the mixed packages that life offers.
Let’s salute the greatest teacher of all that is LIFE itself!
